RAISING AWARENESS

One in six women and one in 33 men have experienced an attempted or completed rape.1 Countless others have been victims of stalking, harassment and sexual abuse.

Yet, oftentimes these issues are not discussed. RVAP raises awareness about sexual assault through campaigns and educational programs that target community members, professionals, young adults and University of Iowa students, faculty and staff.

We participate in national events such as Take Back the Night and the Clothesline Project, sponsoring local marches, speeches, and other activities during Sexual Assault Awareness month.

RVAP also offers a lending library for those interested in learning more about specific sexual assault related topics.

Join RVAP in raising awareness. Use the materials provided to launch a campaign in your area.  Already live in a county we serve? Attend an Iowa City sexual assault awareness event or request programming for your school, community or workplace.
