History of Our Name
Our agency was established in 1973 as the Rape Victim Advocacy Program. Recently, a decision was made to continue our commitment to service and social change under only our acronym, RVAP. We felt that this title better reflected our dedication to victims/survivors of all types of sexual abuse.
Mission Statement
RVAP provides confidential, accessible support and advocacy to victims/survivors of sexual abuse and their partners, friends, and family members; and works to create a community free from sexual violence by providing education and prevention strategies, and by promoting social change.
